Product Applications
Crown Putt is a texturized polypropylene putting surface: 0.75 in pile, 55 oz/sq yd face weight, on a tight 3/16 in gauge, half the gauge of the landscape line. Supplied at contractor pricing with delivery across California.
Why contractors specify it
A green is judged on ball roll. Here is what the material contributes, and what the finished installation contributes.
Half the 3/8 in gauge used across the landscape line, which puts twice as many stitch rows under the ball.
0.75 in texturized polypropylene at 55 oz/sq yd, with no thatch layer, for a consistent roll.
No stimp rating is supplied with the material. Green speed is a property of the finished installation and has to be measured on site.
Warranty-approved use: putting and practice surfaces. 8-year factory plus 8-year Superior residual coverage.
Applications and specs
Where Crown Putt is warranty-approved, and which components the installing contractor sources separately.
Residential putting greens at private homes.
Short-game and practice areas.
Amenity greens at clubhouses and resorts.
Simulator bays and indoor practice surfaces.
Most builds use a landscape turf as the collar. Prince 80 and Queen 90 are the usual pairings at a shorter pile.
Leveled silica sand infill is required and is sourced and installed by others, along with the base, cups and flags.

Rolls ship as full 15 ft × 100 ft rolls covering 1,500 sq ft (166.7 sq yd); cut lengths are available when a full roll does not fit the job. A full roll weighs up to approximately 1,188 lb, so plan for forklift or equivalent unloading and confirm site access with the trade desk before scheduling. Color may vary slightly between dye lots, samples and photos: call (619) 717-1342 to confirm color before you order.
Required, supplied by others. Leveled silica sand infill is required: it is what makes the green putt true, holds the fibres upright and protects the backing. Fringe or collar turf around the green, the aggregate base, and cups and flags are also sourced separately. Superior Turf Direct supplies the turf only and does not install.
Download the Crown Putt spec sheet for submittals and bid packages, or the full 16-year limited warranty (PDF). Request physical samples to confirm color, pile and backing before ordering. Coverage, exclusions and per-product compliance are set out on the warranty and compliance page.

Straight answers
Questions contractors ask before ordering putting green turf.
No stimp rating is supplied with the material. Green speed is a property of the finished installation, including base flatness, sand depth and grade, brushing and maintenance, and has to be measured on site.
3/16 in is half the 3/8 in gauge used across the landscape line, which puts twice as many stitch rows under the ball. That density, plus the absence of a thatch layer, is what produces a consistent roll.
Yes. Leveled silica sand infill is required. It is what makes the green putt true, holds the fibres upright and protects the backing. We supply materials only, so infill is sourced and installed by others.
Most builds use a landscape turf as a collar. Prince 80 and Queen 90 are the usual pairings at a shorter pile. Your rep can spec the green and the collar together.
Lead-free and PFAS-free per mill testing, and FIFA Quality tested.
