Wholesale Artificial
Turf Buying Guide

How contractor purchasing works, from qualifying for trade pricing through product selection, samples, ordering and delivery. Written for California installers, landscapers, builders, commercial buyers and dealers buying materials rather than an installed job.

Who buys wholesale, and what qualifies

Contractor pricing is for businesses that install, specify or resell turf: licensed turf and landscape installers, design-build and maintenance firms, builders and developers, property managers, HOAs, facilities, public agencies, and dealers or supply yards. Superior Turf Direct supplies materials only and does not install, so the installing contractor stays responsible for base preparation, drainage, seaming and fastening.

There is no application fee and no minimum to be quoted. Tell the trade desk your business type on the pricing request and the applicable rate tier is confirmed with your quote.

How contractor pricing works

Pricing is quoted per project rather than published as a list. That is deliberate: the rate depends on the line, the quantity, the delivery point and whether the work is one-off or repeat. Volume tiers step down as project quantity grows, and the tier is stated in writing on the quote.

  1. Send the scopeBusiness type, application, approximate square footage, delivery city and target install date.
  2. Get a recommendationThe trade desk puts forward the line for the site and sends samples if you want to compare.
  3. Receive written pricingRate, quantity, availability and delivery window, usually within one business day.
  4. Confirm and scheduleDelivery date coordinated with your crew, to your yard or the job site.

Complex specifications and multi-site portfolios can take an extra day. Nothing is priced online.

Choosing the product

Start with the application, not the price. Ten lines are stocked across four categories: seven landscape lines from 1.38 to 2 in pile and 60 to 88 oz/sq yd face weight, one pet line, one putting surface and one sports line. The specification guide explains what each number changes, and the product pages carry the verified figures for every line.

The one question worth settling earlyPrince 80 carries the lowest UV index in the line. On full-sun inland and desert projects the trade desk compares it against Queen 90 or Imperial 100 before you commit. For shaded yards, north exposures and coastal sites it is a sound specification.

Samples

Trade samples ship free to contractors, landscapers, builders, dealers and commercial buyers in California, typically within two business days. Request up to about four products per pack, and say if you are comparing across applications so the pack is built around the job. Each pack includes a spec summary you can hand to a client, and spec sheets are available for submittals and board approvals.

Request free samples or download the spec sheets first.

What is supplied, and what is not

Supplied with your orderSupplied by others
Turf in full rolls or cut lengthsAggregate base material and sub-base
Seam tape and adhesiveShock pad, where impact attenuation is required
Weed barrier fabric, gopher wire, turf nailsInlaid or painted field line marking
Ballast infill: #60 silica sand, ZeoFill zeolite, Camofill 16 gritSpecialty and treated pet infill, and cleaning or treatment products

Infill coverage varies by application, so quantities are confirmed on the quote rather than read off a fixed rate.

Delivery and unloading

A full roll is 15 ft × 100 ft, covering 1,500 sq ft or 166.7 sq yd, and weighs between approximately 815 lb and 1,188 lb depending on the line. Plan for forklift or equivalent unloading and confirm site access with the trade desk before scheduling. Cut lengths are available when a full roll does not fit the job. Delivery goes to your yard or the job site and the date is confirmed in writing with the quote.
